Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (1) and the hose from the condenser.
5. Remove the A/C compressor hose nut (2) and hose from the accumulator.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
7. Remove the lower air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper) or Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Lower) in Cooling System.
8. Remove the nut and the A/C compressor hose assembly at the A/C compressor.
IMPORTANT: Remove and discard all the used O-ring and sealing washers.
9. Remove the A/C compressor hose assembly.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly.
IMPORTANT: The new O-ring seals must be lubricated with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
2. Install the new O-ring seal to the A/C compressor hose assembly.
Install the new sealing washers onto the A/C compressor hose assembly.
3. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly to the rear of the A/C compressor.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the A/C compressor hose assembly nut.
Tighten
Tighten the A/C compressor hose nut to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
5. Install the lower air deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Upper) or Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors (Lower) in Cooling System.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the A/C compressor hose nut (2) to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the A/C compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
8. Install the A/C compressor hose and nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the A/C compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
9. Remove the right sheet metal diagonal brace.
10. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
12. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
