Subject:
Power Window Will Not Roll Up In High Ambient Temperatures
(Replace Power Window Switch)
Models:
2001-2002 Pontiac Grand Prix (Coupes Only)
Condition
Some customers may comment that the driver's power window will not roll up after using the express down feature in high ambient temperatures.
Cause
This condition may be caused by the power window switch express down function, in high ambient temperatures, not opening electrically before the power window circuit breaker opens. This results in the window, while in the down position, remaining inoperative for as long as 10 to 15 seconds or until the power window motor circuit breaker closes.
Correction
Replace the power window switch in the driver's door with P/N 10334854. Refer to the Front Door Switch Replacement procedure (SI Document ID # 571327) in the Doors sub-section of the Service Manual.
