Air Distribution - Front Control

MODE SWITCH
Use the MODE switch in order to change the air delivery mode in the vehicle. The air flow direction wilt sequence through the following modes:
^ MAX A/C (C60 only)
^ VENT
^ BI-LEVEL
^ FLOOR
^ MIX-BLEND
^ FRONT DEFROST

MAX A/C MODE (C60 ONLY)
When the driver selects the MAX A/C mode, the A/C compressor clutch is activated. The recirculation door is activated, bringing air from inside the vehicle for maximum cooling. Air is delivered out the instrument panel outlets with a small amount out the floor outlets. Vacuum is supplied to both the mode and defrost actuators through the blue and red vacuum lines, closing the floor and defrost outlets.

VENT MODE
When the driver selects the VENT mode, air is delivered through the instrument panel outlets with a small amount delivered to the floor. Vacuum is supplied to both the mode and defrost actuators through the blue and red vacuum lines, closing the floor and defrost outlets.

BI-LEVEL MODE
When the driver selects the BI-LEVEL mode, cool air is delivered through the instrument panel outlets while warm air is delivered through the floor outlets. Vacuum is supplied to the defrost actuator through the red vacuum line, closing the defrost outlet.

FLOOR MODE
When the driver selects the FLOOR mode, air is delivered through the floor outlets with some toward the windshield and side window vents. Vacuum is supplied to the mode and defroster actuators through the red and green vacuum lines, closing the defrost and vent outlets.

MIX-BLEND MODE
When the driver selects the MIX-BLEND mode, air delivery is divided equally between the floor and windshield outlets. A small amount of air will be delivered out the side window vents. The A/C compressor will run automatically in this position to help remove moisture from the air inside of the vehicle. Recirculation mode is not available in MIX-BLEND mode. Vacuum is supplied to the mode actuator through the green vacuum line, closing the vent outlet.

FRONT DEFROST MODE
When FRONT DEFROST is selected, air is directed toward the windshield with a small amount of air toward the floor and side window outlets. The A/C compressor will run automatically in this position to help remove moisture from the air inside of the vehicle. Recirculation mode is not available in FRONT DEFROST. Vacuum is supplied to both the mode and defroster actuators through the green and yellow vacuum lines, closing the vent and floor outlets. The rear window defogger does not affect the HVAC system at all.
