Hood Replacement

Removal Procedure






Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

1. Open and support the hood.
2. Install a protective covering over the fenders.
3. Remove the hood insulator, if equipped.
4. Remove the hood front seal, if equipped.
5. Remove the hood latch striker.
6. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
7. Remove the hood hinge to hood bolts, with an assistant.
8. With an assistant, remove the hood.

Installation Procedure




1. With the help of an assistant, position the hood.
2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the hood hinge to hood bolts.

Tighten the hood hinge bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

4. Install the hood insulator, if equipped.
5. Install the hood latch striker.
6. Install the hood front seal, if equipped.
7. Adjust the hood. Refer to Hood Adjustment.
8. Remove the protective covering from the fenders.
9. Remove the support and close the hood.
