Front Fender Replacement
Removal Procedure
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
1. Remove the hood.
2. Remove the side hood bumper.
3. Remove the side rear seal.
4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
5. Remove the front fender liner.
6. Remove the fender lower bracket bolts (1).
7. Remove the fender lower bracket (4).
8. On Chevrolet vehicles, remove the front side marker lamp. Refer to Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Pontiac) Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Chevrolet).
9. Remove the front fascia from the fender.
10. Remove the fender insulator retainers (2).
11. Remove the fender insulators (1).
12. Remove the fender center bracket bolts (2).
13. Remove the fender center bracket (1).
14. Remove the hood hinge.
15. Remove the fender bolts (1).
16. Remove the fender (3).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the fender (3).
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the fender bolts (1).
Tighten the fender bolts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
3. Install the hood hinge.
4. Install the fender center bracket (1).
5. Install the fender center bracket bolts (2) to the body.
Tighten the fender center bracket bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
6. Install the fender center bracket bolts (2) to the fender (3).
Tighten the fender center bracket bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
7. Install the fender insulator (1).
8. Install the fender insulator retainers (2).
9. Install the front fascia to the fender.
10. On Chevrolet vehicles, install the front side marker lamp. Refer to Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Pontiac) Parking and Turn Signal Lamp Replacement (Chevrolet).
11. Install the fender lower bracket (4).
12. Install the fender lower bracket bolt (1) to the radiator side support.
Tighten the fender lower bracket bolt to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
13. Install the fender lower bracket bolt (1) to the fender.
Tighten the fender lower bracket bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).
14. Install the front fender liner.
15. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
16. Install the side hood bumper.
17. Install the side rear seal.
18. Install the hood.
