Gas Mass Sensor/Mixture Control Valve (GMS/MCV) Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURECAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Remove the throttle cables from the retaining clip.
4. Loosen the vapor hose clamp (9) at the outlet of the GMS/MCV.
5. Remove the 4 screws from the GMS/MCV inlet elbow (8).
6. Remove the GMS/MCV bracket attaching nuts from the isolators.
7. Remove the GMS/MCV and bracket (3) from the module bracket (1).
8. Remove the GMS/MCV from the bracket.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the GMS/MCV to the bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the GMS/MCV to bracket nuts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
2. Install the GMS/MCV and bracket (3) to the isolation mounts on the module bracket (1).
Tighten
Tighten the GMS/MCV to module bracket nuts to 3.7 N.m (33 lb in).
3. Install the GMS/MCV inlet elbow (8) using a new O-ring.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).
4. Tighten the fuel hose clamp (9).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel clamp to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
5. Install the throttle cables to the retaining clip.
6. Connect the electrical connectors.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
