Engine Compartment

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect the quick-connect fitting at the engine compartment fuel return pipe.
4. Remove the fuel return pipe from the fuel pressure regulator using a back-up wrench.
5. Plug the fuel pipe and the fuel pressure regulator.
6. Discard the O-ring.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Remove the plug on the fuel pipe and the fuel pressure regulator.
2. Install the new O-ring.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the fuel return pipe to the fuel pressure regulator.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel return pipe fitting to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).

4. Connect the quick-connect fitting.
5. Install the air cleaner assembly.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
7. Inspect for fuel leaks:
7.1. Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
7.2. Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
7.3. Turn ON the ignition.
7.4. Inspect for fuel leaks.
