Fuel Tank Bracket Replacement
Bi-Fuel/Alternative FuelsREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Relief the CNG fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Remove the fuel tank.
3. Remove the high pressure regulator (HPR).
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
5. Remove the tank bracket mounting nuts and the backing plates.
6. Remove the tank support plate nuts and the support plate.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Remove the stud plates from the tank bracket.
9. Remove the upper tank mounting stops.
10. Remove the tank bracket from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Clean the mating surfaces.
2. Apply sealant around all the tank bracket mounting holes.
3. Install the tank bracket.
4. Install the upper tank mounting stops to the tank bracket. Tighten the bolts finger-tight.
5. Install the stud plates. Bend the tabs to secure the plates.
6. Raise the vehicle.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Install the backing plates and the nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the backing plate nuts to 12 N.m (108 lb in).
8. Install the tank support plate and the nuts.
Tighten
Tighten the tank support plate nuts to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Tighten the upper tank mounting stop bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the upper tank mounting stop bolts to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
11. Install the HPR.
12. Install the fuel tank.
