69. Forward Clutch Disassemble

Tools Required
- J 23456 Clutch Pack Compressor
- J 23327-1 Adaptor
- J 25018-A Adaptor





1. Use a flat blade screwdriver in order to remove the retainer ring (617) from the forward clutch housing assembly (624).
2. Remove the backing plate (634).





3. Remove the steel and composition forward clutch plates (633).
4. Remove the belleville plate (625).





5. Use J 23456 or an Arbor Press, J 23327-1, and J 25018-A in order to remove the forward clutch return spring retainer (632).
6. You will use the retainer ring pliers shown in the diagram in order to remove the forward clutch snap spring retainer ring (632).





7. Remove the retainer ring (632).
8. Remove the return spring assembly (631) and remove the guide (630).
9. Remove the forward clutch piston (629).
10. Remove the piston insert (628).





11. Remove the inner and the outer piston seals (627, 626) from the forward clutch piston (629).





12. Remove the two seal rings (622) from the input shaft (624).
