84. Park System Components Assemble

1. Inspect the manual valve rod and retainer for distortion or damage.
2. Inspect the detent lever (703) for damage.





3. Inspect the manual shaft (704) for the following conditions:
- Damaged threads
- Raised edges on flats
- Bends or nicks on the shaft





4. Inspect the park lock actuator assembly (705) for the following conditions:
- Damaged or broken retainer lugs
- A damaged or broken spring
- Cracked or damaged sleeve





5. Install the park pawl actuator rod (705) onto the manual shaft (704).





6. Install the manual shaft assembly (704) into the case and engage the detent lever (703).





7. Using a 5 mm (3/16 inch) drift pin and a hammer, install the roll pin (702).





8. Align the groove of the manual shaft with the retaining pin hole in the case.
9. Using a hammer, tap the retaining pin (713) in place.
