Wiper Transmission Replacement

TOOLS REQUIRED
^ J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator
^ J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the wiper arms.
2. Remove the plenum chamber water deflector. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
3. Remove the three bolts and the wiper drive system module from the vehicle
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the wiper motor.




5. Remove the wiper transmission from the wiper motor crank arm using the J39232.




6. Remove the cap from the wiper transmission.
7. Remove the screws and the wiper transmission from the tube frame.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the wiper transmission onto the tube frame with the screws.

Tighten
Tighten the wiper transmission screws to 9 N.m (79 lb in).

2. Install the cap onto the wiper transmission.




3. Install the wiper transmission onto the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529.
4. Connect the electrical connector onto the wiper motor.




5. Install the wiper drive system module onto the vehicle with the bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the wiper drive system module screws to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

6. Install the plenum chamber water deflector. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement in Body Front End.
7. Install the wiper arms.
8. Operate the wipers and inspect for proper operation.
