Change Engine Oil Soon

The IPC illuminates the ENGINE OIL CHANGE SOON message 81 in the Driver Information Center (DIC) when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) determines that the engine oil life is less than 11 percent. The PCM sends a class 2 message to the IPC requesting illumination. After the oil is changed, reset the engine oil monitor. Refer to GM Oil Life System - Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.
