Linear Shift
Linear Shift Assembly Replacement - On VehicleRemoval Procedure
1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the knee bolster.
3. Remove the steering wheel.
4. Remove the steering column trim covers.
5. Remove the Shift Lever.
6. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock actuator from the linear shift assembly.
7. Remove the transmission shift cable from the linear shift assembly.
8. Ensure the Ignition switch is in the off lock position
9. Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1).
10. Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the lock module assembly and push against the locking tab to remove.
11. Remove the flat head tapping screw from the linear shift assembly.
12. Remove the linear shift assembly.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the linear shift assembly and the tapping screws.
Tighten the tapping screws to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
2. Connect the park lock cable assembly (1) to the lock module assembly.
3. Install the automatic transmission shift lock actuator.
4. Install the shift cable to the linear shift assembly.
5. Adjust the automatic transmission shift lock.
6. Install the shift lever.
7. Install the steering column trim covers.
8. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.
9. Install the steering wheel.
10. Install the knee bolster.
11. Enable the SIR system.
