Linear Shift Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle

Important: If installing a new linear shift assembly, it will come with a pre-adjusted park lock cable. Do not remove the tape from the park lock cable until installation of the steering column to the vehicle is complete.





1. Install the linear shift assembly to the steering column.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install 3 new flat head 6 lobed soc tap screws to the linear shift assembly.
Tighten the 3 screws to 4 Nm (36 inch lbs.).





3. Put the shift lever clevis into the NEUTRAL position. This will be 2 positions from the park position.
4. Install the automatic transmission shift lock control.





5. Install the shift lever seal (2) onto the shift lever assembly (4).
6. Install the shift lever assembly (4) and secure it with the shift lever screw (3).
Tighten the screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).
7. Install the upper and lower trim covers.
8. Function check for park lock requirements when installation of the steering column to the vehicle is complete.
9. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
