Linear Shift - Disassemble
Linear Shift Assembly - Disassemble - Off VehicleCaution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precaution.
1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers.
3. Remove the following:
3.1. Shift lever screw (3)
3.2. Shift lever assembly (4)
3.3. Shift lever seal (2)
Notice: Do not use excessive force when removing the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column. Using excessive force may cause damage to the automatic transmission shift lock control and/or the steering column.
4. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control in the following way:
4.1. Put the shift lever clevis into the NEUTRAL position.
4.2. Use a small screwdriver to pry the automatic transmission shift lock control away from the steering column jacket assembly and the cable shift cam assembly.
5. Remove and discard 3 flat head 6 lobed soc tap screws from the linear shift assembly.
6. Remove the linear shift assembly.
