Shock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the right quarter inner rear trim finishing panel.
2. If vehicle is a coupe, remove the shock sensor (1) from the right rear inner wheelhouse panel.




3. If vehicle is a convertible with a audio amplifier, remove the shock sensor (1) from the wheelhouse bracket.




4. If vehicle is a convertible without a audio amplifier, remove the shock sensor (2) from the wheelhouse bracket.
5. Disconnect the shock sensor electrical connector (1).
6. Remove the shock sensor (2) from the vehicle.
7. Using a clean cloth, clean the sensor mounting surface with a suitable cleaning solution.
8. Allow the sensor mounting location time to dry.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: The shock sensor sensitivity is preset and does not require adjustment. If more or less sensitivity is needed, refer to System Components under Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) Description and Operation.




1. Connect the shock sensor electrical connector (1).
2. Locate the shock sensor (2) to the vehicle.
3. Pull paper backing from tape on back of sensor (2).
4. If vehicle is a convertible without a audio amplifier, press shock sensor (2) to the wheelhouse bracket as shown.




5. If vehicle is a convertible with a audio amplifier, press shock sensor (1) to the wheelhouse bracket as shown.




6. If vehicle is a coupe, press shock sensor (1) to the right rear inner wheelhouse panel as shown.
