Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Convertible)

Removal Procedure




1. Raise and support the lid panel (2) and remove the plastic cap.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Remove the struts at the rear compartment lid panel.
4. Remove the adjustment bumper bolt.
5. Remove the bolts (5).

Important: If you are replacing the rear compartment lid panel, remove the spoiler and harness. Refer to Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Pontiac Coupe) Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Chevy RS Coupe) Spoiler Replacement - Rear (Convertible and Chevy Coupe).

6. Remove the lid panel (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the lid panel (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the adjustment bumper bolt (5).

Tighten the adjustment bumper bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the struts at the rear compartment lid panel.
5. Connect the electrical connector.
6. Install the plastic cap.
7. Perform the following adjustments as needed on the rear compartment lid (2):

* Fore or aft
* Side to side
* Front height

8. Loosen or tighten the bumpers as needed.
