Power Roof Operation

IMPORTANT:
^ Voltage is applied to the folding top through the WINDOWS CKT BRKR 30 A. The WINDOWS CKT BRKR 30 A is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM).
^ For a complete understanding of the Retained Accessory Power operation, refer to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Description and Operation in Accessory Delay Module.
^ Do not attempt to operate the power folding top unless the vehicle is stationary.
^ Release all of the latches before lowering the power folding top.
^ Lower the side windows before operating the power folding top.
^ Re-engage all of the latches after raising the power folding top.

Battery voltage is applied from WINDOWS CKT BRKR 30 A through the ignition 3 voltage circuit to the folding top switch and the folding top relay, vehicles with ETA only, when the ignition switch is in the RUN position, the ACCY position or when the vehicle is in the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) mode.

The folding top pump is driven by a reversible permanent-magnet motor. The motor is controlled by the folding top switch. Opening the power folding top requires the folding top switch to be pressed and held in the open position. Ignition 3 voltage is provided to the folding top pump through the convertible top motor down circuit and the convertible top motor up circuit will remain at ground potential. This action will drive the power folding top to open. When the folding top switch is released, the switch contacts will return to ground potential.

Closing the power folding roof requires the folding top switch to be pressed and held in the close position, ignition 3 voltage is provided to the folding top pump through the convertible top motor up circuit and the convertible top motor down circuit remains at ground potential. This action will drive the power folding top to close.
