Heater Hose Replacement - Outlet
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
NOTE: Remove the heater hose quick connect fittings by hand. Do not attempt to pry the quick connect fittings from the drive belt tensioner. Prying the quick connect fittings may damage the quick connect fittings.
2. Disconnect the heater hose quick connect fitting from the drive belt tensioner.
3. Discard the O-rings.
4. Remove the bolt attaching the outlet heater hose bracket from the mid rail.
NOTE: Do not apply excessive force on the heater core pipes during hose removal. Applying excessive force on the heater core pipes may damage the heater core pipes.
5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core.
6. Remove the outlet heater hose from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the outlet heater hose to the vehicle.
2. Install the outlet heater hoses to the heater core.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the bolt attaching outlet heater hose bracket to the mid rail.
Tighten
Tighten the heater hose bracket bolt to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).
4. Install the O-rings to the quick connect fitting. Snap the quick connect fitting to the drive belt tensioner.
5. Pull back on the heater hose quick connect fitting in order to verify proper connector engagement.
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
