Catalytic Converter Replacement - RightRemoval Procedure
Caution: Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Service Precautions.
Caution: Refer to Protective Goggles and Gloves Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe.
2. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) locks.
3. Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors.
4. Remove the oxygen sensors.
5. Remove the exhaust manifold nuts (1).
6. Remove the right catalytic converter and gasket (2).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Exhaust System Inspection Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install a NEW catalytic converter gasket (2).
2. Install the right catalytic converter.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the exhaust manifold nuts (1).
^ Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the oxygen sensors.
^ Tighten the oxygen sensors to 42 Nm (31 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors.
6. Install the CPA locks.
7. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
