Tail Lamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Reposition the rear compartment trim to access the tail lamp nuts.
2. Remove the tail lamp nuts.
3. Remove the tail lamp from the rear end panel.
4. Remove the tail lamp filler, if needed.
5. Remove both tail lamps in order to replace the tail lamp filler.




6. Remove the following wiring harness sockets from the tail lamp:
^ The tail lamp socket (1)
^ The tail lamp/stop lamp/turn signal sockets (3, 4)
^ The back-up lamp socket (2)

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the following wiring harness sockets to the tail lamp.
^ The back-up lamp socket (2)
^ The tail lamp/stop lamp/turn signal sockets (3, 4)
^ The tail lamp socket (1)
2. Install the tail lamp filler, if needed.




3. Install the tail lamp to the rear end panel.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the tail lamp nuts.

Tighten
Tighten the tail lamp nuts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

5. Reinstall the rear compartment trim.
