Hinge Replacement - Front Door
Removal Procedure
1. Open and support the door.
2. Remove the rubber conduit at the front door pillar.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector to the body wire harness.
4. Remove the front door check link bolt.
5. Remove the intermediate bolts (1) on the door hinges.
6. Remove the door from the vehicle.
7. Clean the area around the hinges and mark the location with a grease pencil.
8. Remove the bolts (2) securing the hinge (3) to the door.
9. Remove the bolts securing the hinge to the hinge pillar.
10. Remove the front door hinge.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the front door hinge to the alignment marks on the hinge pillar.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the bolts attaching the front door hinge to the hinge pillar
Tighten the front door hinge bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
3. Position the front door hinge to the alignment marks on the front door.
4. Install the bolts (2) attaching the hinge (2) to the door.
Tighten the front door hinge bolts to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
5. Position the door by the vehicle.
6. Install the wire harness electrical connector to the body harness.
7. Install the wire harness conduit to the body access hole.
8. Install the front door check link to the hinge pillar bolt.
Tighten the front door check link to door bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
9. Install the intermediate bolts (1) to the door hinges.
Tighten the door intermediate hinge bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
10. Remove the support from the front door.
11. Inspect the front door for proper operation.
