Lumbar Replacement - Front Seat
Removal Procedure
Important: Place the lumbar support in the full release position in order to remove the cable without the aid of an assistant.
1. Remove the front bucket seat from the vehicle.
2. Adjust the seat back cover in order to gain access to the lumbar support plate. Refer to Seat Back Cover Replacement - Front.
3. Compress the lumbar support by pushing down on the plate.
4. Route the cable end over and out of the opening in the lumbar support plate.
5. With a small flat-bladed tool, release the retainers for the lumbar support knob.
6. Remove the lumbar support knob from the actuator.
7. Adjust the seat cushion cover in order to gain access to the lumbar support cable and the actuator. Refer to Seat Cushion Cover Replacement - Front.
8. Remove the screws from the lumbar support actuator.
9. Remove the lumbar support cable from the seat cushion frame.
10. Remove the lumbar support cable and the actuator from the seat cushion frame.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the lumbar support cable and the actuator to the seat cushion frame.
2. Install the lumbar support cable to the seat cushion frame.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the lumbar support actuator screws.
Tighten the screws to 3 N.m (27 lb in).
4. Compress the lumbar support by pushing down on the plate.
5. Route the cable end through the opening and over the lumbar support plate.
6. Adjust the seat cushion cover. Refer to Seat Cushion Cover Replacement - Front.
7. Adjust the seat back cover to a desired appearance. Refer to Seat Back Cover Replacement - Front.
8. Align the lumbar support knob with the splines on the actuator.
9. Press down on the lumbar support knob until the knob is fully seated.
10. Install the front bucket seat in the vehicle.
