Drum Brake Hardware Inspection





1. Visually inspect the drum brake system universal spring (6) for the following:
^ Bent or damaged
^ Broken or excessive corrosion
^ Excessive stretching
^ Twisting or binding
2. If any of the conditions listed are found, the brake drum system hardware requires replacement.
3. Visually inspect the park brake lever (4) for the following:
^ Bent
^ Broken pivot
^ Broken at park brake cable attachment
4. If any of the conditions listed were found, the park brake lever and/or attaching hardware requires replacement.
