Front Door Window Glass Won't Roll Up or Out of Channel (Replace Guide)

1999-2004 Oldsmobile Alero
1999-2005 Pontiac Grand Am
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add the 2005 model year. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 01-08-64-018D (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment that the front door window glass won't roll up or is out of the channel.
Cause
The front window run channel guide(s) may have broken, or the guide(s) may have broken and damaged the sash channel on the bottom of the door glass.
Correction
Remove the front window regulator. Refer to the Doors subsection in the Body and Accessories section of the Service Manual.
Remove the door glass from the door.
Inspect the plastic sash channel on the bottom of the glass. If the sash channel has come off the glass, refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 01-08-64-012E for repair.
Inspect the regulator for damage.
When removing the cable from the guide, take care not to damage (kink, cut or fray) the cable.
If the regulator is OK, remove the cable from the guide as shown.
Rotate the guide to remove it from the run channel.
Install the new guide in the same manner as it was removed.
Install the cable into the guide.
Install the window regulator. Refer to the Doors subsection in the Body and Accessories section of the Service Manual.
Verify the window operation.
