Wind Noise Heard From Rear Of Vehicle
(Adjust Primary Seal Flange)

Models:
1999-2003 Oldsmobile Alero
1999-2003 Pontiac Grand Am

Condition

Some customers may comment that when driving at highway speeds, a howl/bottle type noise is heard at the rear of the vehicle.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the deck lid not contacting the seal.

Correction

Adjust the primary sealing flange.

1. Make sure the deck is flush to the body before adjusting the primary sealing flange.

Important:
Do not over adjust. This will increase the deck lid closing effort.

2. Adjust the primary sealing flange by placing a block of wood under the flange and bending it upward slightly with a hammer.
