Seat Back Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) .
2. Remove the E/Z entry manual release knob. Refer to Inertia Latch Replacement. Service and Repair
3. Remove the front seat trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat (Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat) .




4. If equipped with heated seats, disconnect the seat back heater wire connector from under the seat cushion.




5. If equipped with power lumbar, disconnect the lumbar modules (1,2)




6. Unfasten the J-retainer on the outboard side of the seat cushion cover.
7. Slide up the sewn side of the cushion cover in order to expose the recliner/seat back attachment.
8. Remove the roll pins from the hinge supports and the recliner. Discard the roll pins.
9. Remove the pivot bolts which secure the recliner to the seat frame.
10. Remove the seat back from the front seat.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the seat back to the front seat.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the pivot bolts which secure the recliner to the seat frame.

Tighten the bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb in).

3. Install the new roll pins to the hinge supports and to the recliner.
4. Fasten the J-retainer on the outboard side of the seat cushion cover.




5. If equipped with power lumbar, connect the lumbar modules (1,2)




6. If equipped with heated seats, connect the heater wire connector under the seat cushion.
7. Install the front seat trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat (Trim Panel Replacement - Front Seat) .
8. Install the E/Z entry manual release knob. Refer to Inertia Latch Replacement. Service and Repair
9. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) .
