Drum Brake Hardware Inspection





1. Visually inspect the drum brake system hold-down springs (22) and pins (10) for the following:
^ Excessive corrosion
^ Damaged or bent locating pins
^ Weak spring tension

2. Visually inspect the return springs (26, 27), the return/adjuster actuator springs (4, 25), and the park brake lever return spring (20) for the following:
^ Excessive corrosion
^ Excessive stretching
^ Broken hook ends
^ Twisting or binding

3. If any of the conditions listed were found, the drum brake system hardware requires replacement.
