Side Front Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: For the removal of the front door assembly, perform steps 16 thru 22.




1. Open and support the front door.
2. Remove the front door trim panel.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the front door speaker.
5. Remove the inside door handle.
6. Remove the outside door handle.
7. Remove the lock cylinder.
8. Remove the rear view mirror.
9. Remove the front door window.
10. Remove the window regulator.
11. Remove the window outer belt sealing strip.
12. Remove the front door window channel, front side rear.
13. Remove the front door window channel and weather-strip.
14. Remove the lock assembly.
15. Remove the front door electrical harness through the opening in the front door.
16. Remove the carpet retainer.
17. Disconnect the rubber conduit from the A-pillar.
18. Disconnect the front door harness electrical connector (3).
19. Route the electrical harness through the opening in the A-pillar.




20. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the front door hinges on the door side.
21. With an assistant, remove the door side hinge bolts.
22. With an assistant, remove the front door from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

IMPORTANT: For the installation of the front door assembly, perform steps 1 thru 7.




1. With an assistant, position the front door to the hinges.
2. With an assistant align the hinges to the marks made on the front door.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. With an assistant, install the door hinge to front door bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the door hinge bolts to 26 N.m (19 lb ft).




4. Route the electrical harness through the opening in the A-pillar.
5. Connect the front door electrical harness (3).
6. Connect the rubber conduit to the A-pillar.
7. Install the carpet retainer.
8. Install the lock assembly.
9. Install the front door window channel and weather-strip.
10. Install the front door window channel, front side rear.
11. Install the window outer belt sealing strip.
12. Install the window regulator.
13. Install the front door window.
14. Install the rear view mirror.
15. Install the inside door handle.
16. Install the outside door handle.
17. Install the lock cylinder.
18. Install the front door speaker.
19. Route the front door electrical harness through the opening in the front door.
20. Install the water deflector.
21. Install the side front door trim panel.
22. Carefully close the door. Inspect the door for proper alignment.
