REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the right front fender liner.
4. Disconnect the compressor clutch electrical connector.
5. Remove the bolt holding the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.
6. Remove the hose assembly from the compressor.
7. Remove and discard the sealing washers.
8. Remove the compressor bolts (2, 4).
9. Remove the compressor (3).
10. If replacing the same compressor, drain and measure as much of the oil from the compressor as possible using the following procedure:

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: NEW A/C compressors are shipped WITHOUT poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) oil. Use of the incorrect PAG oil can result in compressor failure.
1. If a NEW A/C compressor is being installed, add 60 ml (2 oz), of PAG Oil to the compressor.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the compressor crankcase oil drain bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the drain bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
3. Install the compressor (3) to the compressor mounting bracket (1).
4. install the compressor mounting bolts (4, 2).
Tighten
^ Tighten the front compressor mounting bolts (4) to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).
^ Tighten the rear compressor mounting bolt (2) to 65 N.m (45 lb ft).
5. Install NEW sealing washers to the compressor ports.
6. Install the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.
7. Install the bolt holding the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).
8. Connect the clutch electrical connector.
9. Install the right front fender liner.
10. Install the drive belt.
11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
12. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
