Heater Hose Replacement - Inlet

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.2L (L61)) in Cooling System.
2. Remove the air inlet duct.
3. Reposition the ignition control module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Computers and Controls Systems - 2.2L (LN2).
4. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose clamps.
Disconnect the inlet heater hoses from the inlet heater pipe.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.




6. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose clamps.
Disconnect the inlet heater hose from the heater core.
7. Remove the inlet heater hose from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the inlet heater hose to the vehicle. Use the J 38185.
2. Connect the inlet heater hose to the inlet heater pipe. Ensure that the hose clamps are secured.




3. Connect the inlet heater hose to the heater core. Ensure the hose clamps are secured.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Reposition and install the ignition control module.
6. Install the air inlet duct.
7. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (2.2L (L61)) in Cooling System.
