Bracket Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) End

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) carrier.
3. Remove the parking brake pedal assembly.




4. Remove the fasteners from the left I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
5. Remove the left I/P end bracket.




6. Remove the fasteners from the right I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
7. Remove the left I/P end bracket.


Installation Procedure





1. Install the left I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the fasteners to the left I/P end bracket.

Tighten the fasteners to 50 N.m (37 lb in).





3. Install the right I/P end bracket to the hinge pillar.
4. Install the fasteners to the right I/P end bracket.

Tighten the fasteners to 50 N.m (35 lb in).

5. Install the parking brake pedal assembly.
6. Install the I/P carrier.
7. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
