Removal Procedure

1. Mark the location of the hinges (upper and lower) on the door.
2. Remove the door trim panel.
3. Remove the door module.
4. Remove the water deflector.
5. Remove the inside door handle.
6. Remove the energy absorber pad.
7. Remove the window inner belt seal strip.
8. Remove the window outer belt seal strip.
9. Remove the door window.
10. Remove the window regulator.
11. Remove the stationary window.
12. Remove the door frame applique.
13. Remove the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip.
14. Remove the front window run channel.
15. Remove the outside door handle.
16. Remove the door latch.
17. Remove the upper auxiliary weatherstrip.




18. Insert a small flat bladed tool between the door wire harness conduit (2) and the hinge pillar in order to depress and release the tab (3) on the door wiring harness connector.




19. Remove the door wire harness from the hinge pillar.
20. Disconnect the door wiring harness from the body wiring harness.




21. Disconnect the wiring harness clips (2) from the door panel.
22. Remove the rubber conduit and wiring harness (1) from the door.
23. Remove the door check link.




24. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
25. Lift the door to remove.
26. Remove the door hinges.


Installation Procedure

1. Install the door hinges to the pillar and the door.
2. Align the door hinge halves.
3. Lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Apply Loctite(R) Blue, GM P/N 12345382, or Canadian P/N 10953489, or equivalent to the intermediate door hinge bolts.
5. Install the intermediate door hinge bolts to the hinge.

Tighten the intermediate front door hinge bolts (1) to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

6. Install the door check link.
7. Touch up any paint damage to the hinge and the check link fasteners with body color paint.




8. Route the door wiring harness (1) and conduit into the door.
9. Snap the wiring harness clips (2) into the door panel.




10. Connect the door wiring harness to the body wiring harness.
11. Snap the wire harness connectors into the hinge pillar.
12. Install the upper auxiliary weatherstrip.
13. Install the door latch.
14. Install the outside door handle.
15. Install the front window run channel.
16. Install the door bottom auxiliary sealing strip.
17. Install the door frame applique.
18. Install the stationary window.
19. Install the window regulator.
20. Install the door window.
21. Install the window outer belt seal strip.
22. Install the window inner belt seal strip.
23. Install the energy absorber pad.
24. Install the inside door handle.
25. Check the door for proper adjustment.
26. Install the water deflector.
27. Install the door module.
28. Install the door trim panel.
