Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
COMPRESSOR HOSE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTTOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Disconnect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove the bolt holding the compressor hose bracket to the fan shroud.
4. Remove the compressor hose to condensor block fitting nut.
5. Remove the compressor hose from the condenser.
6. Remove and discard the seal washer.
7. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
8. Remove the right front fender liner.
9. Remove the nut holding the compressor hose to the accumulator.
10. Remove the compressor hose from the accumulator.
11. Remove and discard the seal washer.
12. Remove the block fitting nut from the compressor.
13. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the compressor.
14. Remove compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
15. Remove and discard the compressor sealing washers.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the compressor hose assembly.
2. Install new sealing washers at the compressor ports.
3. Install the compressor hose assembly block fitting to the compressor.
4. Install the block fitting nut to the compressor.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
5. Install a new seal washer on the accumulator end of the compressor hose.
6. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
7. Install the compressor hose nut to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
8. Install the right front fender liner.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Install a new seal washer on the condenser end of the compressor hose.
11. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.
12. Install the compressor hose nut to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
13. Install the compressor hose bracket and bolt to the fan shroud.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
14. Connect the refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
15. Recharge the refrigerant system.
16. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component using the J 39400-A.
