Headliner Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Do not attempt to repair or alter the head impact energy-absorbing material glued to the headliner or to the garnish trims. If the material is damaged, replace the headliner and/or the garnish trim. Failure to do so could result in personal injury.
1. Remove the coat hooks.
2. Remove the sunshades.
3. Remove the sunshade anchor.
4. Pull down the door weatherstrips, as required.
5. Remove the sunroof lacing, if equipped.
6. Remove the sunroof switch, if equipped.
7. Remove the windshield side upper garnish moldings.
8. On sedan remove the center pillar upper trim panel.
9. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel.
10. Pull down the headliner above the left front door. Disconnect the actuator harness connector (3) attached to the headliner (1).
11. Remove the rose bud harness hangers (3) which secure the headliner harness to the upper left quarter panel.
12. Disconnect the headliner wire harness connector (1) located on the upper left quarter panel.
13. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) to the windshield rear view mirror, if equipped.
14. Remove the dome lamp (6) from the headliner (3).
15. Disconnect the dome lamp electrical connector (7).
16. Pull down on the front of the overhead console (1) to release the clips.
17. Remove the rear retainers (5) from the headliner (3).
18. Remove the headliner (3) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the headliner (3) in the vehicle.
2. Install the rear retainers (5) to the headliner (3).
3. Push upward on of the front of the overhead console (1) to retain the clips.
4. Connect the dome lamp electrical connector (7).
5. Install the dome lamp (6) to the headliner (3).
6. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the windshield rear view mirror, if equipped.
7. Connect the headliner wire harness connector (1) located on the upper left quarter panel.
8. Install the rose bud harness hangers (3) which secure the headliner harness to the upper left quarter panel.
9. Pull down the headliner above the left front door. Connect the actuator harness connector (3) attached to the headliner (1).
10. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel.
11. On sedan install the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Center Pillar.
12. Install the windshield side upper garnish moldings.
13. Install the sunroof switch if equipped.
14. Install the sunroof lacing, if equipped.
15. Install the door weatherstrips.
16. Install the sunshade anchor.
17. Install the sunshades.
18. Install the coat hooks.
