Condenser Tube Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the vacuum brake booster.
4. Remove the lower radiator air baffle.
5. Loosen the condenser tube nut at the condenser.
6. Disconnect the condenser tube from the condenser.
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Disconnect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
9. Remove the condenser tube from the support bracket.
10. Loosen the evaporator inlet tube nut.
11. Disconnect the evaporator tube from the condenser tube.
12. Remove the condenser tube.
13. Remove and discard the O-ring.
14. Remove the A/C pressure sensor from the condenser tube.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the A/C pressure sensor to the condenser tube.
2. Install the new O-ring onto the condenser tube.
3. Install the condenser tube to the support clip.
4. Connect the evaporator tube to the condenser tube.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
5. Connect the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor electrical connector.
6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
7. Connect the condenser tube to the condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
8. Install the lower radiator air baffle.
9. Install the vacuum brake booster.
10. Install the air cleaner assembly.
11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system.
12. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
