Condition

Some customers may comment that the left or right tail lamp, brake lamp or turn signal is inoperative.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a loose fitting bulb in the socket. This higher resistance may cause the bulb to burn out and damage the socket.

Correction

^ Inspect the socket terminal to make sure it is tight against the bulb. Use a small pick to adjust the terminal if needed.

^ After inspecting the socket, it may be necessary to replace it with the bulb.

^ Apply dielectric lubricant or dielectric grease to the socket before installing the bulb.

^ After the repair is completed, inspect the other lamp and apply dielectric lubricant or dielectric grease to the socket.

Important:
If it was necessary to replace the socket, repeat the steps above.
