Carpet Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
2. Remove the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar (Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar) .
3. Remove all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Door Sill Plate Replacement) .
4. Remove the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar (Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar) .
5. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Console Replacement - Front Floor) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
6. Remove the rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Rear Floor (Console Replacement - Rear Floor) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
7. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) in Seats.
8. Remove the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement in Power Outlets.
9. Remove the compact disc player, if equipped. Refer to CD Player Replacement in Entertainment.
10. Remove the 4 front retaining bolts from the rear seat, and reposition the rear seat.




11. Remove the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).
12. Remove the floor carpet retainers (2) from each door opening.




13. Remove the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolt from each side of the vehicle.




14. Remove the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor panel carpet (6).
15. Remove the footrest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement (Service and Repair) .
16. Remove the floor mats from the vehicle, if equipped.
17. Remove the floor panel carpet (6) from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the floor panel carpet (6) to the vehicle.
2. Reposition the carpet under the body side lower rear garnish moldings.
3. Install the foot rest. Refer to Foot Rest Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the 4 plastic retainers (3) which secure the rear of the floor carpet (6).





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install each of the front seat belt (1) lower anchor bolts to the floor.

Tighten the bolts to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).





6. Install the floor carpet retainers (2) to each door opening.
7. Install the 3 plastic retainers (1) which secure the front of the floor panel carpet (6).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

8. Reposition the rear seat assembly and install the 4 front retaining bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

9. Install the compact disc player, if removed. Refer to CD Player Replacement in Entertainment.
10. Install the accessory AC/DC power control module. Refer to AC/DC Power Outlet Control Module Replacement in Power Outlets.
11. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) in Seats.
12. Install the rear floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Rear Floor (Console Replacement - Rear Floor) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
13. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor (Console Replacement - Front Floor) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
14. Install the center pillar lower trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar (Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar) .
15. Install all 4 side door sill trim plates. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement (Door Sill Plate Replacement) .
16. Install the body hinge pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar (Trim Replacement - Hinge Pillar) .
17. Install the floor mats, if equipped.
18. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones in SIR.
