Cruise Control Servo Cable: Service and Repair

CRUISE CONTROL CABLE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Loosen the cable adjusting locknuts (1).
2. Remove the cruise control servo cable (2) from the bracket.
3. Remove the cruise control cable (2) from the throttle lever (3). Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in the removal of the cruise cable.




4. Remove the cruise control servo cover (1) by applying slight outward pressure to both sides at the base of the cover (2).




5. Remove the cruise control cable bracket screw (5).
6. Remove the cruise control cable (4) from the bracket.
7. Remove the cruise control cable (4) from the servo lever (1).
8. Remove the cruise control servo cable from the vehicle by removing the cable from the cable guide clips.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the cruise control servo cable (4) to the servo lever (1).
2. Install the cruise control cable (4) to the bracket. Secure the cable with the screw (5).




3. Install the cruise control servo cover (1) by applying slight downward pressure to the cover until the tabs (2) lock.




4. Install the cruise control cable (2) to the throttle lever (3). Opening the throttle lever by hand will aide in the installation of the cruise control cable.

5. Install the cruise control cable (2) to accelerator cable bracket.
6. Install the cruise control cable to the cable guide clips.
7. Adjust the cable adjusting locknuts to allow slight freedom of movement between the cruise control cable and the throttle lever.
8. Secure the cruise control cable locknuts (1).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the cruise control cable adjusting locknuts to 6 N.m (52 lb in).
