Body - Front/Rear Door Glass Area Wind Noise

Wind Noise From Front or Rear Door Glass Area (Replace Front Door Glass Weatherstrip)

Models:
2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe

Condition

Some customers may comment on a wind noise from the front or rear door glass area.

Cause

This condition may be caused by the weatherstrip not sealing properly.

Correction

Replace the front or rear door glass weatherstrip following the procedure below.

Front Door Glass Weatherstrip

1. Lower the window.

2. Remove the front door trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in SI.

3. Remove the water deflector.

4. Unclip and remove the inner mirror garnish trim from the door.

5. Remove the window run channel weatherstrip from the guide channel.

6. Clean the guide channel of any debris.

7. Partially raise the glass and install the window channel weatherstrip in to the guide channel in the door.





8. Install the window channel weatherstrip into the corners of the window opening before installing the center part of the strip.

9. Install the inner mirror garnish trim to the door.

10. Install the water deflector.

11. Install the front door trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door in SI.

12. Close the window and leave closed for 24 hours. This will allow the weatherstrip to set.

Rear Door Glass Weatherstrip

1. Lower the window.

2. Remove the rear side door trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door in SI.

3. Remove the water deflector.

4. Remove the window run channel weatherstrip from the guide channel.

5. Clean the guide channel of any debris.

6. Partially raise the glass.





7. Install the window run channel weatherstrip into the guide channel in the door.

8. Install the window channel weatherstrip into the corners of the window opening before installing the center part of the strip.

9. Install the water deflector.

10. Install the rear side door trim. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door in SI.

11. Close the window and leave closed for 24 hours. This will allow the weatherstrip to set.
