Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair

CRUISE CONTROL SERVO REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disengage the 2 tabs (2) on the cruise control cover (1)
2. Remove the cruise control servo cover (1).




3. Loosen the accelerator control cable locknuts (2).
4. Remove the following components from the cruise control servo:
- The cruise control servo cable bracket screw (5)
- The cruise control servo cable (4)
- The accelerator control cable (3)




5. Disconnect the cruise control servo electrical connector (3).
6. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
- The 2 cruise control servo mounting bolts (2)
- The cruise control servo (1) with the bracket attached

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the cruise control servo (1) and bracket to the vehicle. Secure the servo and bracket with the 2 bolts (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the cruise control servo mounting bolts to 6.0 N.m (52 lb in).

2. Connect the cruise control servo electrical connector (3).




3. Install the cruise control servo cable (4) to the servo lever (1) and bracket. Secure the cruise control cable servo cable bracket with the one screw (5).
4. Install the accelerator control cable (3) to the servo lever (1) and bracket.
5. Adjust the cable adjusting locknuts (2) to allow slight freedom of movement between the accelerator control cable (3) and the servo lever (1).
6. Secure the accelerator cable locknuts (2).

Tighten
Tighten the accelerator cable adjusting locknuts to 8 N.m (71 lb in).




7. Install the cruise control servo cover (1) make sure the tabs (2) snap in place.
