Power Steering Pressure Switch: Service and Repair

Power Steering Pressure Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove the right front engine splash shield.







4. Disconnect the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch connector (3).
5. Remove the PSP switch from the pump.



Installation Procedure

Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in Service Precautions.
Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice

1. Apply fluid to the sealing portion of the PSP switch.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the PSP switch to the pump.
Tighten the PSP switch to 21 Nm (15.5 ft. lbs.).

Important: Verify the connectors are clean.







3. Connect the PSP switch connector (3).
4. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly.
5. Install the right front engine splash shield.
6. Lower the vehicle.
