Window Replacement - Lift Gate

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.




1. Open the lift gate window (3).
2. Support the lift gate window (3).
3. Remove the high mount stoplamp cover. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
4. Remove rear wiper arm. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement - Rear .
5. Remove wiper motor assembly. Refer to Wiper Motor Replacement - Lift Gate .
6. Remove the 4 bolts (2) from the rear window (3).
7. Remove the 4 nuts (1) from the rear window hinge (5).
8. Disconnect the rear washer hose. Refer to Hose Replacement - Rear Window - Washer Pump to End Gate .
9. Remove the rear window upper outer panel (4).
10. Remove the lift gate window struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Lift Gate Window (Strut Replacement - Liftgate Window) .




11. Remove the rear window strut bolt (1) and packing (6) from the rear window retainer (5).
12. Remove the rear window retainer (5) and the packing (4) from the rear window (2).
13. Remove the 4 nuts (3) and spacers (1) from the rear window (2).
14. With an assistant, remove the lift gate window (2) from the lift gate window hinges (8).



Installation Procedure





1. With an assistant, install the lift gate window (2) to the lift gate hinges (8).
2. Install the spacers (1) and the 4 nuts (3) to the rear window (2).
3. Install the rear window packings (4) and the retainers (5) to the rear window (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Install the rear window packings (6) and the rear window strut bolts (1) to the rear window retainers (5).

Tighten the rear window strut bolts to 6.0 N.m (53 lb in).

5. Install the rear lift gate window struts. Refer to Strut Replacement - Lift Gate Window (Strut Replacement - Liftgate Window) .




6. Install the rear window upper outer panel (4) to the rear window (3).
7. Connect the rear washer hose. Refer to Hose Replacement - Rear Window - Washer Pump to End Gate .
8. Install the 4 nuts (1) to the rear window hinges (5).
9. Install the 4 bolts (2) to the rear window (3).
10. Install the rear wiper motor assembly. Refer to Wiper Motor Replacement - Lift Gate .
11. Install the rear wiper arm. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement - Rear .
12. Install the high mount stoplamp cover. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement .
13. Close the lift gate window (3).
