Hood Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Open the hood.
2. Apply tape to the edges of the hood and the fenders to prevent paint damage.
3. With a helper holding the hood open, remove the hood assist rods. Refer to Hood Open Assist Rod Replacement.
4. Remove the hood hinge pivot bolts (2) retaining the upper hood hinge (3) to the lower hood hinge (5).
5. With the aid of an assistant, remove the hood (1) from the lower hinge.
Installation Procedure
1. With an assistant, install the hood (1) to the body.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the bolts (2) that retain the upper hood hinge (3) to the lower hood hinge (5).
Tighten the bolts (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
3. Install the hood assist rods.
4. Adjust the hood, if necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment.
5. Remove the tape from the hood and the fenders.
6. Close the hood.
