Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement (W/L36/L67)Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
3. Remove the steering gear heat shield.
4. Remove the power steering hose retainer (2) from the engine frame at gear.
5. Remove the power steering pressure hose (1) from the power steering gear.
6. Remove the power steering pressure hose at the power steering pump.
7. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the vehicle.
Notice Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
^ Tighten the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the power steering pressure hose in the retainers (3).
4. Install the power steering pressure hose (1) to the power steering gear.
^ Tighten the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the power steering gear heat shield.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Bleed the power steering system.
8. Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
