Multifunction, Turn Signal Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering wheel.
3. Remove the tilt lever.
4. Remove the retaining screws (2) from the lower steering column trim cover.





5. Remove the lower steering column trim cover.
5.1. Tilt the shroud down and slide back to disengage the locking tabs.
5.2. Remove the shroud protector.





6. Remove the retaining screw (3) from the upper steering column trim cover.
7. Remove the upper steering column trim cover.
8. Remove the instrument panel.





9. Remove the multifunction switch retaining screws.
10. Disconnect the Multifunction switch electrical connections.
11. Remove the multifunction switch.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the multifunction switch.

Notice Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the multifunction switch retaining screws.
^ Tighten the side screw to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the top screw to 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.).
3. Route the electrical harness and connect electrical connections.
4. Install the instrument panel.





5. Install the upper steering column trim cover.
6. Install the retaining screw (3) to the upper steering column trim cover.
^ Tighten the screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





7. Install the lower steering column trim cover.
^ Ensure that the slots on the lower trim cover engage with the tabs on the upper trim cover.
^ Tilt the lower trim cover up and snap the trim covers together.





8. Install the retaining screws (2) to the lower steering column trim cover.
^ Tighten the screws to 3.5 Nm (31 inch lbs.).
9. Install the steering wheel.
10. Install the tilt lever.
11. Enable the SIR system.
