LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION (GENERAL)

The rear compartment will release when the rear compartment lid release switch is operated. The rear compartment lid release system contains the
following components:
- TRK/REL Relay
- Instrument Panel Integration Module (IPM)
- Rear Integration Module (RIM)
- Rear Compartment Lid Release Actuator
- Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch

When the rear compartment lid release switch is operated a switch input is provided to the IPM. The IPM will send a trunk release on message to the RIM. The rim will ground the TRK/REL relay and provide battery voltage to the rear compartment lid release actuator. The rear compartment will then release. When the rear compartment lid release actuator is operated it also grounds the trunk ajar input in the RIM.
