Steering Column Bracket

BRACKET REPLACEMENT - STEERING COLUMN

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the knee bolster.




3. Remove the bolts/screws from the knee bolster bracket at the instrument panel.
4. Remove the bolts/screws from the knee Bolster bracket at the steering column support.
5. Remove the knee bolster bracket from the instrument panel.




6. Remove the steering column bracket bolts.
7. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the electrical connectors to the bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




2. Install the steering column bracket and bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




3. Install the knee bolster bracket to the instrument panel.
4. Install the bolts/screws to the knee bolster bracket at the steering column support.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts/screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Install the bolts/screws to the knee bolster bracket at the instrument panel.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts/screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

6. Install the knee bolster.
7. Install the left instrument panel insulator.
