Hood Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Open the hood.

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

2. Apply tape to the corners of the hood and the adjacent surfaces.
3. Remove the hood secondary latch.
4. Remove the hood latch striker.
5. Remove the hood insulator.
6. Remove the washer pump solvent hose.
7. Remove the washer nozzles.
8. Remove the hood bumpers.
9. Mark the upper hood hinge location to the hood with a grease pencil.
10. Remove the assist rods from the hood.
11. Remove the bolts from the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.
12. Remove the hood from the vehicle with an assistant.







Installation Procedure
1. Install the hood to the vehicle with an assistant.
2. Align the hood hinges to the alignment marks on the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the bolts to the upper hood hinge, with an assistant.


Tighten the upper hood hinge bolts to.....18 N.m (13 lb ft).

4. Install the assist rods to the hood.
5. Install the hood bumpers.
6. Install the washer nozzles.
7. Install the washer hose.
8. Install the hood insulator.
9. Install the hood latch striker.
10. Install the hood secondary latch.
11. Remove the tape from the corners of the hood and the adjacent surfaces, if applied.
12. Adjust the hood.
13. Close the hood.
