Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement) .
2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) .
3. Remove the seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Front (Seat Cushion Replacement - Front) .




4. Disconnect the front seat cushion cover flap J-clip (1).
5. On passenger side, disconnect the passenger presence electrical connector.




6. Pull the front and side J-clip (1) away from the seat frame (2).
7. Lift the cover and pad assembly away from the seat frame then release the rear J-clip (3).
8. Remove the cover and pad assembly from the seat frame.




9. Fold the rear corners of the seat cushion cover (1) over the seat cushion pad (2).




10. While holding the front of the seat cushion pad (1), pull the rear corners of the seat cushion cover (2) forward and away from the front seat cushion pad to disengage the hook and loop strips (3).
11. Pull the front seat cover up and over the forward edge of the front seat cushion pad.

Important: The upper pad is glued to the cushion pad along each edge. Use caution when removing the pad not to tear the side pads or the upper cushion.






12. If required, peel back the upper cushion pad (1) to expose the passenger presence detector switch (2).

Important: The passenger presence detector wiring harness is glued to the seat cushion pad. Use caution when removing the harness not to damage the harness.


13. Carefully lift off the passenger presence detector switch and pull the wiring harness through the underside of the cushion pad.



Installation Procedure

1. Carefully pull the wiring harness through the underside of the cushion pad.
2. Place the passenger presence detector switch in its depression in the seat cushion pad.
3. Apply new adhesive to the upper cushion.




4. Apply either of the outer hook and loop strips (1) and the one or two cross hook and loop strips (2) on the seat cushion cover (3) with the seat cushion pad (4).
5. Press the folded edge of the seat cushion cover firmly into the corresponding groove in the seat cushion pad to engage the hook and loop strip.




6. Align and press the outer hook and loop strip (1), on the seat cushion cover, with the corresponding groove in the seat cushion pad (2).




7. Roll the front corners (1) of the seat cushion cover over the seat cushion pad (2).
8. Roll the sides of the seat cushion cover over the seat cushion pad.
9. Roll the rear corners of the seat cushion cover over the seat cushion pad.




10. Position the cover and pad assembly to the seat frame then attach the rear J-clip (3).
11. Attach front and side J-clip (1) to the seat frame (2).




12. On passenger side, connect the passenger presence electrical connector.
13. Connect the front seat cushion cover flap J-clip (1).
14. Install the seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Front (Seat Cushion Replacement - Front) .
15. Install the front seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) .
16. Install the front seat outer trim panel. Refer to Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement (Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement) .
